2. Issue: Drop Shadow Effect controls are not Clickable

3. Issue: Build In or Build Out Animation is Skipping (Minimum clip duration)

4. Issue: Video in Drop Zone not playing for the entire Title

1. How to use Ribbon Panel 3: Clip Wrap

The Clip Wrap ribbon is intended to be used above the primary storyline on top of a clip or image, such as a logo, that does not take up the full screen. This can be a clip that is scaled down below 100%, or a logo image with an alpha channel, such as a PNG or PSD file.

The back-sides of the ribbon will appear behind the clip. This will give the appearance of the ribbon wrapping around the clip.

2. Issue: Drop Shadow Effect controls are not Clickable

The Drop Shadow effect from FCP must be controlled through the inspector. Alternatively, you can convert the Text Panel Title into a Compound Clip prior to adding the Drop Shadow effect. This will allow you to use the on-screen Drop Shadow controls.

3. Issue: Build In or Build Out Animation is Skipping (Minimum clip duration)

If the Build In and Build Out options are selected in the Inspector, the duration of the clip on your Timeline must accommodate the length of the builds. Otherwise you’ll notice a skipping in the animation. For the most part, the default duration is the minimum duration required to safely accommodate a Build In and Build Out animation.

4. Issue: Video in Drop Zone not playing for the entire Title

If you are running into problems with this please follow these instructions closely:

Start with a Text Panel Title on your Timeline. Make sure the video you intend to add to the Drop Zone has a longer duration than the Title on your Timeline.

Position your playhead over your title on the Timeline. Then click the Title on your timeline to select it. Then press the semi-colon ( ; ) on the keyboard to navigate to the first frame of the title.

Over in the Inspector click the Drop Zone well. That prompts you to select a clip.

If you select a video clip from your Timeline, the frame on which you click will be the start frame for the video in the Drop Zone. Therefore, it is best to click the video clip very close to the first frame, or else your video might run out before the Text Panel does, which could create problems.
